Chiptuning S62 engine Z8

A friend of mine wants to 'chip'tune his (2003) Z8. Only the chip, and nothing more. He aims at +20hp and +25nm, is this reasonable ?
Does anyone on this forum have any experience with 'only' chipping ? I understand that there are a few companies that produce such chips, Dinan and Nowack are the names that come up when you search the Internet for this....? Any advise ??

hi,

there are several threads discussing this. But in short some advice:

Do it ONLY with a dyno pull BEFORE and AFTER "chipping" Most advertising is very optimistic and in the worst case, you can get less hp than before.

If you compare the prices of some companies who sell only some kind of chip with Nowack, you can see that for a little more money you can get:

- Dyno Pull before and after chipping
- correcting the rev limiter a little bit, so you get an better way from one gear to another
- removing of the v-max limitation

Winni is right, Nowack is a good place for this, lots of experience with the S62 in both M5 and Z8.
