Normandy Spring Cruise - Saturday 29 March

At the end of March are running a one-day cruise of the Normandy D-Day beaches and if anyone is in the area you are welcome to join us.

Our ferry arrives at Cherbourg at 0745 and we return to the UK late that night from Le Havre.



From Cherbourg [2] we plan to stop at the US Airbourne Museum at Ste. Mère-Église [4] before visiting the American beaches of Utah [5]and Omaha [7], intersected by the cliffs of Point-du-Hoc [6]. After lunch er will see the remains of the prefabricated Mulberry harbour at Arromanches-les-Bains, then we head along the British and Canadian beaches of Gold, Juno and Sword [8-9] before visiting the famous 'Pegasus bridge' [10] captured by British airbourne troops.

After a quick 'raid' on a hypermarket to stock up with wine and other goodies, we travel along the coast for an evening meal in the beautiful port of Honfleur [11], before boarding our ferry back to Portsmouth.

that's realy a great tour. I did this coast a several times on my own and I liked it realy there.
Let's see if we can make it!
