BMW Z4 with Miltek exhaust

AW: Z4 with Miltek exhaust

Also,

Hi,

the Milltek complete exhaust for the Z4 only fits Right Hand Drive zzzz: the system uses 2 sportcats (which are integrated in the exhaust manifold on the Left Hand Drive zzzz).

The system is VERY VERY loud!

The car on the video has also an engine remap. I know the car well, it is from a friend.http://www.whythissmile.co.uk/Thorney_Motorsport/new_exhaust_and_Map.wmv

Sorry I post in English.

hi!

why that? what´s different in the right hand drive concerning the exhaust system??

Sorry that I explain in English:

On the LEFT HAND DRIVE Z4 (EU version) the catalyc convertors are integrated in the exhaust manifold (kat in facherkrummer).

On the RIGHT HAND DRIVE Z4 (UK version) there are PRE-catalyc convertors integrated in the exhaust manifold. The real catalyc convertors are in the piping behind the exhaust manifold. Because the steering wheel mechanism is on the right, but the engine layout is exactely the same, there was simply no place available to integrate the catalyc convertors inside the exhaust manifold.

As a consequence, the UK Z4 does not have an MSD (mittelschalldampfer)!

UK version: Right hand drive.

EU version: Left hand drive.

!! The drawing is actually wrong !! What is shown is the UK-version part with the 2 catalyc convertors. You can see the difference on the partnumbers + description.

On the EU version, there is only a "one-piece" resonator.

Like so:

There are two ways to use the Milltek exhaust on the EU Z4:

1. Replace the racekats (metallic catalyc convertors) with straight pipes. Will be loud as hell :X

2. Use an aftermarket euxhaust manifold (facherkrummer).

The Milltek exhaust on my friends car (the one in the video) is extremely loud. It is much much louder than an 2x76 Eisenmann Race + soundrohr.

I have the movie after the exhaust was installed on my computer, but is is 20Mb and I have no place to host it...

I´m very interested in the milltek exhaust. I have a german Z4 and I would like to know if it is possible only to use the ESD (Milltek MSBM154) + Verbindungsrohr (MSBM153)???
Like I understood there is only a problem if you want to use "milltek´s sport cats" in a left hand drive Z4 because then you have two pairs of cats. Why should it be louder if you would replace the sport cats, because you still have a pair of cats in the manifolds which the UK version doesn´t have.
