Hallo Teywan,

ich habe bei mir das orig. E39 MFL-Lenkrad verbaut!

Kl. 15, 31, K-Bus
,Tempomatanschluß;

Ciao

Christian

Hi max..

so here we are with the translation...

concerning the orig. E39 MultiFunctionalSteeringWheel!

It is however possible to only use the buttons of the e39 SW and the the 7pol.(plugs) Slipring of
the E38 and/or E39 .

Here are the part numbers.:
61 31 2 489,878 buttons cruise control
61 31 2 489,879 radio controll button
61 10 2 493,715 cabel/wiring
32 34 1 094,261 so called "slipring"

The installation is only possible on the Z3 built from
9/98 to 3/99 and only on the 6Zyl. models!!

The only radio that works with the mfsw buttons is the radio with the two displays and CD player (k-bus connection)(original BMW CD Player.)

I do not have an exact connection diagram for the plugging.. sorry...

actually you just have to ad and connect 4 Wires. Kl. 15, 31, k-bus,
Cruise Control;

hope I could help..

Great, thank you

I do have a few question if you dont mind

1. do you have any type of wireing instructions or diagrams

2. are you sure it will not work on 2001 models , since they have the same parts..

3. is the E39 7 pole slip ring a direct replacement for the Z3's 6 pole ring with the M// 3 spoke wheel(not a m// roadster but a m// wheel)

4. If I get the E39 7 pole ring do the wires plug right into it, and then all I have to do is run the wireing to the radio and cruise control??

5. Have you done this to your z3 or seen it done on someone z3 and do you have pictures of the switches mounted in the z3 wheel, I have no idea where to plug the wires into for the radio and cruise
if you need me to I can pay you for a wireing diagram or instructions
and if you ever need anything from this side of the globe just ask me ohh also the cd player I have is the bmw single cd bussiness
please let me know thanks
Sorry to ask all the questions but you seem to be the only one with info on this subject and I have wanted to do this for a while

Hi max..

sorry for not awnsering your mail.. but I just got back from Cologne.

my car was built in 8/98... so that means no chance on my car to do that kind of work...

A Z3 driver gave me all these information...and I thought that it would be helpfull for a few of you guys in the forum.....

I'll try to find out more about the wiring and plugging and I'll post it tomorrow or so...

but I think that it's definitly not possible on a 2001' model..

they have a diffrent software...

but I'll check it for you..

greatings
