AW: My Z4 2.2 ESS Kompressor

welcome to the forum.
absolutely stunning car you've got there. ;)

may i ask you to write a comment about the break performance? few people are interested in k-sport products but have doubts concerning the supposed technical advantages in everyday use.

regards,
Phil

Nice Mods in/at your car! Looks damn good - very nice! Could you tell me, where the carbon splitters are from?

Thank you:)
The breaks have been superb, as daily driving and as track use. Im working with supercars and I could say they have the same brake effect as an Ferrari 360(Has 330mm brembos). Here are a video from some track driving with an E92 M3 ESS with Ksport brakes, this car is driven like this a whole weekend without problems with braking. He also drives something called "time attack", then there is no drifting, just as fast as possible

Hi,

and welcome to the Board. Really a nice car. I am just wondering why no one asked you so far about your nicest add-on, the ESS. Is it worth? Unfortunately ESS hasn't strong partners in Germany. If they would I could imagine they would sell in dozens.

Tim

PS. Nice colour :-)

Hi, BmwZ, and welcome to the Board!

That’s one very impressive car you’ve got there. :t

Could you tell us whether you experienced any problems with the ESS upgrade in connection with the 2.2 engine? When I had my ASA compressor installed there were some who expressed reservations regarding that engine’s ability to handle the power increase without damage or excessive wear.

I look forward to your input. ;)

Looks great...

If i am not mistaken......Tuned cars have to pay a lot of tax in norway????

ESS have their testcenter in Norway, so its naturall to pick a kompressor set from them. Yes, its a big difference, much more high rpm power. In Norway the taxes is crazy on big engines, so a used 2,2 cost 35000Euro and a 3,0 cost 45000Euro. A kompressor would be cheaper and get more power out of the car... Only one bad part about it, I should have paid the taxes for the extra hp. Haven`t done it, but its hard for the government to get this taxes from the tuners.....

Owned this car since new and mounted the kompressor set when the km was 2000, now it have 52000km on it. No problems at all..... PS: I change oil every 10000km...

Yes, I should have paid 13000Euro in taxes.. Crazyyyyyy

:) tell me about taxes....

I paid for my z4 2.2 back in 2005 (Incl tax) 32.000 Cyprus Pounds which equals 54.500 Euro....

You are not alone

AW: My Z4 2.2 ESS Kompressor

wow...this car is amazing.
unbelivable that it's "just" the small 2.2 engine you got there. 264rwhp....i can just dream about this number. could you maybe tell us a bit about the acceleration and top speed?
i'm planing a kompressorupgrade too, but i'm uncurtain which one i should take. again, respect for this car...it's beautiful.

AW: My Z4 2.2 ESS Kompressor

so langsam sollte mal jemand von den zuständigen etwas gegen dieses doppelpostproblem unternehmen -.-'

I have no 0-100 times, but my friend drive a Porsche 996 3,4, its no problem to hang on him. The Porsche does 0-100 in 5,2sek. The topspeed is bad because of a diff change, and just 5 speed gearbox. 224 km/h GPS....

It’s good to hear that you’ve had no problems with the compressor upgrade. That has been my experience as well and I think it shows that the 2.2 engines a good deal more rugged than many believe. :M

Under how much pressure (in Bar) does your supercharger operate? The one I have installed (G-Power, SK Plus NG) delivers 4.5 Bar and I’ve currently got 234 HP under my hood. So, I figure you must have between 0.6 and 0.7 Bar working for you?

At any rate, it’s really good to know that someone else in this world has supercharged their Z4 2.2 and is equally happy with the results. It certainly confirms my decision for mounting a compressor on my 2.2 machine and I hope that others are motivated to consider a similar upgrade that delivers so much performance. :t

Cool, in Norway there is maby like 5-6 2,2 ESS kompressors. The original fitment from ESS gives 0.5 Bar, on my car it gave me 235hp on the wheels, but with stage 2 its 0.6 Bar and 200rpms higher limit on the revs. Also with ESS Exhaust. This numbers are from ESS Dyno in Norway

This is just so cool! I have the feeling that we, who have supercharged our 2.2 machines, are a rare breed indeed. ;)

I have no idea how many supercharged 2.2 Z4’s are being driven in Austria at this time but I’m sure that the numbers will not be much higher than in Norway.

I can only say that after the compressor was installed, I no longer recognized the car I had. When the compressor fully kicks in above 3.500 rpm’s the acceleration is breathtaking. There have been some hilarious situations, when other cars have gone into overdrive in order to pass my humble vehicle and all I had to do was down shift and let her go… :b

My son, Aaron, finds your Z4 really cool and has asked me to send you his regards.

We wish you good roads and fair weather. :y

AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: My Z4 2.2 ESS Kompressor

Many mods, A+ for effort even if some aren't my style.

It's also comforting to hear that there are countries with tax laws worse than those in the Netherlands. ;)

Welcome to the Forum !!!

Your Z4 looks great. If you still want to do something on your car....(???) just change the rear Lights into the Facelift lights and it goes from A to A+!!!

Happy Eastern

Thanks, I find the pre facelift rear light nicer than the facelift ones(I know they have leds). I have changed my rear lights to the US symetric ones and happy with that.. Another thing is that I have to change my bumper to fit the facelift ones!!

hi from germany,

your car looks extremely glossy, how long do you polished it ? what kind of wax do you used ?

it looks like a mirror :O)

outstanding !!!
