I bought a Z4 a few weeks ago with 19" alloy wheels. Can anybody help me indentify the wheels, i.e. size, ET and brand. The tyres are 235/35, but is it possible to have 255/35 or even bigger mounted?

AW: Identify my wheels

It seems, they are M3-rims - two of the front with 8x19 ET47

It is possible not to mount 265/30 because they are only 8" - also not 255/35 and not 255/30 in combination with 235/35 in the front.

Hi Jokin,

Thanks, you do know a lot about the Z4. I'm very impressed.

Is M3-rims a brand of BMW?

It is possible, that you are own original M-Rims. I think this, because on your rear it seems to be two front-wheels.

Some after-market-copies are made for the rear, so they looking much better. I think, your rear could be much wider ... you should do so with spacers.

The original-M3-rear-rims are too wide.

Here are some pictures of the original rear rims without bodycustomizing.

Hi Frank,

I have ordered Eibach springs 30 mm, plus the offroad-parts: 2 x 33531094754 as you recommended (to raise it 10 mm on the rear) and Eibach spacers 2 x 20 mm also for the rear. The parts will be delivered in January.

And I belive you are right about my wheels, they are all 8x19", but it would be nicer with 9,5x19" on the rear and 255/35. Where can I buy them?

Do you really want your Z4 looking like IQ-Mans Z4 (look Link above)?

I think, you should pull your rear body in the width - round about 20 mm should it be.

M3-rims are available at each BMW-Dealer or in eBay.

I think IQ-Mans Z4 are too wide at the rear, but maybe it is because he has mounted spacers and he is using the wrong ET ??

What I want for my own Z4 is wider wheels at the rear like 9,5x19"?

Hey!

IQ-Man doesn't use Spacers at the rear, the original M3 Rims have 9,5" and ET 27. No Spacers needed...

Problem is, as you can see, it is pretty wide, maybe too wide. Decide 4 yourself, I wouldn't buy 2 new rims and tires in this case. Spacers could be the better choice.

IQ-Man mounted the original M3-rims, they have 9,5x19ET27 - my rims are 9,5x19ET39 ... these 12 mm have the rear body to be wider.

that's life ... :#

oh, the fast impi ... *humpf* ... :d

I have understood that a lower ET-value gives bigger distance between the wheels, which means that Jokin can have his 9,5x19" inside the wheel box - without problems - because it is 12 mm lees wider than IQ-mans.

Hi,

I would recommend to mount the springs at first. I think IQ-Man's car isn't lower. In the next step I would mount spacers at the rear, to see, how it looks like.

Hi ZettMan,

Thats very much my strategi. I have ordered The Eibach springs and the offroad part, which will lower my Z VA30mm and HA20mm- that will be step one. Second step will be 2x20mm spacers. Third step (will only be relevant if I'm not happy with the with of the rear wheels): remove the spacers and mount 9,5x19" with 265/30R19 tyres.

Can I find a photo of your car somwhere?

Because of the offroad parts ... the Zettmans car don't looks like be lowered by springs at the rear - mine Z4 looks like a little be lowered.

The Problem without the offroad parts is be visible if you are sitting in the car - most lowered cars looks very well if they are parking. But with two persons in it it seems they have had a broken rear axle ...

So don't look at soo much pictures without any driver in the cars ... :w

Hi friends,

I'm still trying to indentify my wheels :# . It is not original M3 wheels, but a copy. I need to know who have produced them. Here's som data from the wheel:

MADE IN ITALY
RICAMBO NON ORIGINALE
RX
Load 630 kg
8JX19H2 ET47

See also the photos for identification of the logo "JWJ" or whatever it is?

Thanks

Hi,

I think it is very difficult to identify this rims. Sure is, that they are not from BMW. "Ricambo Non Originale" means that it is a replication. Don't you have any documents about this rims ? In Germany it wouldn't be allowed to drive with rims without documents. Contact the dealer where you bought this rims.
